Like many I wear a number of different hats, I’m a bit of a girly geek, I love technology and the power it gives us to connect. I’m very fortunate that I’m also gifted at bringing processes and strategy into the mix to guarantee long-term results.
I spend my days working 1:1 with private clients and creating digital products for small businesses to be able to leverage the internet.
I’ve been hosting Virtual Summits since 2013 and interviewing experts long before that.
Believe it or not I’m not a natural speaker in fact it’s a real challenge for me. I’m dyslexic so while my brain is great at process and connection, its rubbish at things like keynotes, but on the plus side I’m brilliant at packing cars… But that’s another story.
To get over this hurdle I spent years trying to conquer my fear of public speaking, I joined toastmasters international and the professional speaking association. I spoke at networking events, sold from the stage spending thousands on travel and time away from home.
Plus, to put the icing on the cake, I was asked to speak at the Association of Business Physiologists yearly event and was so stressed out that I had a panic attack. Honestly, I thought I was going mad, well actually, for those few hours I was. So enough was enough, my public speaking days came to a close.
But that’s OK because I soon discovered a better way not only for my mental health, I discovered that I could generate more leads then I had ever done before. Just to put it into perspective, from one virtual summit I spoke at, I attracted 135 new subscribers, from one 45 minute talk.
After this, I thought to myself okay, let’s host my own summit and see what happens, and sure thing, hundreds of new leads.
So you can see why I am so passionate about virtual speaking.
