- Three ways to tell if you have a healthy email list.
Running my business is extremely rewarding, but sometimes it can feel like a real challenge, I find myself doing way too many things I’m just not naturally good at.
Do you know what I mean?
But do we really need to be good at everything?
No, of course we don’t but it’s amazing how long it took me to learn this lesson. One of the things I’m rubbish at and really don’t enjoy is selling directly to people, it’s just not my thing and I’ve struggled with it for years.
So last month I started working with a supper sales team who are going to take this key element of my hands, this is great for a number of reasons.
Firstly: It ensures that I get more informed feedback.
Secondly: It’s a job I really don’t like and is better off in more skilled hands.
Thirdly: It protects me from the grind of rejection.
Fourthly: It means I can give more and create more opportunities for sales.
Three ways to tell if you have a healthy email list.
The Virtual Summit is over and you’ve grown your list, but you’re still not sure if what you are doing is really working.
1. Subscribers are consistently opening your email correspondence.
It doesn’t matter if it’s your regular newsletter or part of an email marketing campaign, but people need to be opening, consistently so you can build trust and enable them to take action.
One of the ways to ensure that you have a consistent open rate is to send out your correspondence consistently. The truth is I have sent out some really bad emails, let’s face it, we all do at some time, so while your content is key to your success consistency plays a major role in your open rate.
2. Your numbers of subscribers regularly increase and decrease.
People come and go, it’s a fact of life and that’s perfectly ok, a healthy email list will reflect people coming and going. As your numbers of subscribers drop off what happens over time is you start to build a loyal following.
3. Your subscribers take action.
There’s absolutely no point in sending out correspondence if people are not taking the action you want them to. Whether it’s clicking links, purchasing a product or asking them to opt-in to a new sales process.
So my question to you is…
On a scale of 1 to 10 how healthy is your email marketing list?
