Build with purpose.
Don’t create a new list without thinking about the sale….
Start with the end in mind, what action is it you want people to take? What are you going to be selling? What is your pitch?
If you’re launching a new product, service or programme, think about the content of your email to connect with your prospect’s pain. What is it you need to share with them?
How are you going to build trust and credibility fast, get them thinking and wanting to learn more about you! You have to scope out each piece of correspondence and make sure it all connects together, right up to the point of making your offering.
I think of it like guiding people, through a maze forest, so they take no wrong turns and get where they need to be in the shortest amount of time.
Often used to incentivise pre-qualified prospects to sign-up and share their name and email address with you. Great for getting higher numbers to attend your online webinars and events.
Often used to give more perceived value on sales pages of programmes products and services after an online launch or webinar.
Put a note in your diary to download a CSV file of your updated lists. Don’t rely on external services, make sure you always keep a copy of the leads you are capturing, make this task part of your monthly list maintenance.
When the email you are sending doesn’t reach its destination.
- Soft – temporary failure to connect – When an email is sent, it reaches the host but then is not delivered to the individuals direct in-box it is connected with. Common causes include the host server is temporarily down, the mailbox is full etc.
- Hard – permanent – An email account does not exist, it cannot therefore be delivered.
Your IP address has been blocked for possible spamming. An example of this is when you send out a monthly newsletter directly through Outlook, always use a good online email marketing provider, we use Aweber.
Your email account has been hacked and sending out messages, the shared server you are using with your host has been blocked due to one of the other users.
